Profile

I originally studied fine art at Portsmouth and Exeter Art Colleges. More recently, I trained at Sheffield University as an Art Psychotherapist. Currently I am working as Artist in residence for the Northern Centre for Cancer Care.

I have always worked with fabric, often re-cycling pieces from my collection of interesting materials with their own histories, gathered over the years; velvets, silks and hand woven woollens. My ideas come from the natural forms around me: the moss covered stone walls, the clambering nasturtiums and the seasonal changes within my garden. The horizon which is framed in my window is dominated by the skyline, huge sweeping hills with striking contrast of yellow ochre and brooding grey skies.
